Contradições entre a importância do trabalhador e a precarização das relações de trabalho no turismo: notas primeiras de uma pesquisa de tese para doutoramento

Resumo: This study aimed to identify the types of work in tourism, according to functions and qualifications, and to analyze labour relations regarding to remuneration and labour recruitment. The methodology was systematic in literature and empirical research, to elaborate a theoretical-conceptual reference and a results presentation.The primary reference presents some general features about work, the production of surplus value and worker’s alienation, as well as considerations about work and the contemporary restructuring process. The types of work were characterized as support services for tourism: travel agencies, transport, accommodation, food and leisure. In the tourism production system occurs a worker’s devaluation, who is subjected to low remuneration and precarious labour relations. From the results of the theoretical and empirical studies, conclusions and considerations were prepared towards the recognition of the limits and challenges of work in tourism
