Resumo: The construction and exploitation of a new commercial and industrial port at Granadilla de Abona, in the South of the island of Tenerife, would have very important environmental, social, economic and territorial effects. The incidence on the tourism trade, based on the Sun&Beach model, stands out in the economic field. The main objective reached in this work is the restructuring that this sector would need, and the searck of other complementary alternatives among we highlight those related with business, rural and ecological, cultural and sports tourism (with all the varieties). This work is part of a bigger one dedicated to value the future social and economic sustainability of the council of Granadilla de Abona.
