Resumo: Implementation of tourist tax, called «ecotax», is mended to be a policy instrument for affording tourist impacts in the Balearics. Hoteliers positions around this tax are investigated in this article. According to them this policy threatens seriously tourist activity, since it increases holiday costs. Balearic tourist context, at the moment of «ecotax», and «ecotax» positions by Balearic and Spanish governments are also analysed.
