Resumo: The purpose of this study is to offer some solutions to the developement of the inland rural areas of the Mediterranean arch, which, since the middle of the 20th century, have been severely affected by the crises resulting from the models of agriculture used there. To do so, we attempt to apply integrated methodologies in which, given the new relations between country and town, tourism and services can act as instruments that are capable of revitalizing and boosting the socioeconomic conditions of these rural areas. We have applied this methodology to a tourist resort that is in decline and whose basic offer is «health tourism». By so doing, our intention is to put forward integrated proposals that rejuvenate the abovementioned product and which in turn can generate synergies with other sectors.
