Resumo: Many of the new professional requirements in the touristic sector imply the need for major geographical awareness. However, territorial tuition comes up against numerous preconceptions on the part of students, tending to view Geography as solely an encyclopaedic discipline of scant applicability. Accordingly, ascertaining student attitudes regarding how tourism functions in areas can assist in improving course structures and geography programs, with the aim of, for future professionals, opening up new paths in the interpretation and planification of tourism.
