Resumo: Nature Tourism in Protected Areas of Mexico is considered since the late twentieth century, as an instrument of socioeconomic development. Since this strategy is relatively novel for Latin America, its implementation requires special and careful treatment. It is necessary to adhere to the principles of conservation and sustainable use. We analyze the Cacalomacán Rural Ecological Park, located within the Nevado de Toluca Volcano. It is an area of interest for the conservation of biodiversity, where nature tourism has become a tool for community development. The used methodology was the Weighted System Resource Inventory and Resources Evaluation.
