Resumo: Marina Alta is a territory specialized in welcoming tourists and immigrants since 1950s. There are currently 44% of registered foreigners, with municipalities where 70% is exceeded. Under these conditions, it is interesting to investigate what type of relationship exists between the host population and these groups. This article focuses on shelling the processes of touristic construction of reality and legitimation by the host population. These processes work usually by identifying the resident population as tourists, what hinders the interaction and inclusion processes. Finally, some measures in the field of tourism are proposed to reorient the offer.
