Resumo:  The development of tourism today is characterized by high competitive level, where gains value imagination and presentation of a new tourist demand an offer where diversification, authenticity, commitment to the care and protection of the environment and quality are their distinctive; therefore, in this new visión destinations they are forced to generate and evaluate new ideas constantly value for others and demonstrate their capacity to adapt. In this context new forms of consumption arise within the community tourism, described this worldwide as one of the activities which route to sustainable development of populations is highlighted. Ecuador considered the Pioneer country in this mode has a high natural and cultural diversity; however, this potential has not been adequately exploited for development, which is why the need to diagnose your current state arises, with the objective of this research make a proposal assessment procedure territories to promote community tourism in the region Amazon of Ecuador; to identify the main lines of action which should focus the work and contribute to the development of the modality of integration criteria and sustainability of host communities.
