Resumo: This article proposes an analysis around community-based tourism public policies in Colombia. In order to do this, the author elaborated an inventory of public policies around this topic in Colombia. This inventory allowed to see than national public policies around community-based tourism does not involve elements such as funding, follow-up, and concrete action plans in the strategies they propose, thus, they end up being ineffective. This finding both demands an analysis of the reasons that sustain this phenomenon and invites to formulate proposals that help to stop this situation. This article proposes that communities that provide tourism services become territorial public policies that guarantee both respect for cultural identities and environmental preservation, as well as allowing them to control every moment of this cultural and economic activity.
