Resumo: The paper addresses different aspects of the birth and development of religious tourism in Pompeii. It examines the different aspects of the Marian type cult in Pompeii, the various expressions of faith and the dominant nature of the devotion to the Virgin of the Rosary in Pompeii, justly defined by its devotional aspects as a “popular sacred” site.
