Resumo: Empirical study with interpretative approach of the modes of tourist experience of interest and rapture based on in depth interviews with tourists resident of Mexico City, from Erving Goffman’s dramaturgical metaphor’s theoretical perspective. Features of the planning of the journey and the tourists’ ways of traveling, knowing and remembering were identified in the backstage. Features of the tourists’ attitudinal and behavioral aspects and interpersonal relationships were identified in the front stage. The above features are identified with one or more modes of tourist experiences.
