Resumo: The hotel sector has grown worldwide as a result of the internationalization of tourism. In the case of Colombia, Santander stands out for its tourist competitiveness, with 221 establishments dedicated to the economic activity of accommodation. For this reason, this article, using a cross-sectional quantitative approach, is intended to describe the job satisfaction of employees of hotel establishments. The results indicate that this sector presents a high job satisfaction mainly related to the physical conditions of the workplace. However, there is high dissatisfaction at work due to little recognition of their achievements, important aspects to improve. In this sense, the importance of measuring job satisfaction levels is concluded through information gathering tools such as questionnaires with the aim of creating human talent management policies. For future research, it is recommended to replicate this exercise in other economic sectors to make comparisons and find relationships.
